Whilst away on holiday in Dorset this summer we decided to go for a drive to see the lighthouse Portland Bill over on the island of Portsmouth, the morning of our trip was lovely the sun was shining as we set off.
Driving along Dorset beach you could forget where you were, unfortunately once we got to the other side of Dorset and onto the long road that takes you across to Portland there was a problem, the road was backed up with cars at a standstill, people were even standing next to their cars, so god knows how long they had been there. It turned out that a lorry carrying a full load of building rubble had spilled some of its load over the road and blocked the entire one way system, it took over 1 hour for them to clear the building rubble but it did not spoil our day in the end.
